The Pass That Changed My Summer

Jackson Peters and Jonah Haber are two filmmakers from Toronto who also happen to be roommates. In May 2016, the pair hitchhiked from Halifax to Vancouver in only 11 days. During their time travelling the country they embraced chance encounters, never certain of where they’d end up or who they’d meet. With VIA Rail’s Canada 150 Youth Pass, they hope to take advantage of similar opportunities ranging from chance encounters at music festivals to special moments camping out with new acquaintances.

Mike Sandare, a 21 year old Political Science student from the University of Alberta, and one of the lucky few holders of a Via Rail 150 pass. He is an enthusiastic traveller with a knack for finding the curious little nooks that make every city unique, he is excited to explore Eastern Canada (much of it for the first time!)
